The Hair of the Dog is an annual event of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography in Queensland. Having been part of the inaugural event committee, I enjoyed many years coordinating one of the top photographic events in the Southern Hemisphere, until I moved to Dublin late 2007. So it was an honour to be back in Australia, taking part as a presenter, as we celebrated 10 years of the Hair of the Dog.
The 3 day conference and trade-show is intended to rejuvenate and inspire photographers as they kick off the new year after the Christmas break. A huge thanks to the event team as well as those who attended my two sold out PhotoShop seminars. The feedback was fantastic and greatly appreciated.
Other speakers for this special 10th year included Jasmine Star, Matt+Katie Ebenezer, Sue Bryce, Dan O’Day, and Darren Jew to name but a few. A full rundown can be found at the AIPP’s blog http://www.hotd.aippblog.com/ If you’re interested in HOTD 2012, keep your eye on the blog for details!
I was also honoured to have one of my Vatican Staircase prints included in the Hair of the Dog Print Auction. In total, the auction raised over AUD$10,000 for the Queensland Premier’s Disaster Appeal to assist in recovery from the recent floods in my hometown of Brisbane through to Central Queensland.
