One Fab Magazine!

I recently had the pleasure of creating an editorial shoot for the ONE FAB DAY team’s Summer preview issue of their new magazine.

The shoot features beautiful budget table decor ideas, and includes the creative floristry of Claire from The Informal Florist.

I love the smell of fresh albums!

And I do love the UPS man! It’s like getting presents (well.. if I ignore the connection to my bank statement)! A few new products arrived yesterday and I have to say I’m very pleased with them.

Whilst I love my Australian album manufacturers and their amazing quality and service, shooting more weddings in Ireland and Europe these days, ultimately means costly shipping from down under to this northern part of the globe. I’ve been overwhelmed with the enquiries I’ve received in this past month and have been humbled by some of the most lovely compliments.

So I’ve been researching some new suppliers a little closer to my Northern hemisphere weddings, and am happy that my new findings will enable me to pass the savings on to you, the client, whilst maintaining the premium quality that defines my brand. Keep an eye on your mailbox for updates on this shortly, or if you’ve not yet enquired, drop me a line via the contact page.

“Hair of the Dog” Conference, Feb 2011 | Queensland, Australia

The Hair of the Dog is an annual event of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography in Queensland. Having been part of the inaugural event committee, I enjoyed many years coordinating one of the top photographic events in the Southern Hemisphere, until I moved to Dublin late 2007. So it was an honour to be back in Australia, taking part as a presenter, as we celebrated 10 years of the Hair of the Dog.

Michelle Kenna - Hair of the Dog conference, Brisbane, 2011

The 3 day conference and trade-show is intended to rejuvenate and inspire photographers as they kick off the new year after the Christmas break. A huge thanks to the event team as well as those who attended my two sold out PhotoShop seminars. The feedback was fantastic and greatly appreciated.

Other speakers for this special 10th year included Jasmine Star, Matt+Katie Ebenezer, Sue Bryce, Dan O’Day, and Darren Jew to name but a few. A full rundown can be found at the AIPP’s blog If you’re interested in HOTD 2012, keep your eye on the blog for details!

I was also honoured to have one of my Vatican Staircase prints included in the Hair of the Dog Print Auction. In total, the auction raised over AUD$10,000 for the Queensland Premier’s Disaster Appeal to assist in recovery from the recent floods in my hometown of Brisbane through to Central Queensland.
